WARKWORTH MEMORIAL HALL REFURBISHMENT
The hall now has a new floor. Grant aid from three Charitable Trusts amounting to £3,250 has allowed the Hall committee to renew the main hall floor. The floor is a combination of light coloured wood parquet in the central area, with carpet surround. Added to this, a redecoration project recently has seen an improvement to the general appearance of the room and coupled with the new floor, there is a massive improvement to the room, about which the village can be proud.
Parties and receptions have been held in the Hall on a regular basis. With the vastly improved décor the building can be regarded as a very attractive venue for hire.
An alcohol licence has recently been secured for Friday and Saturday nights and so an event organiser is free from the hassle of having to apply themselves for a permit.
|
The price of hire currently remains at £7.00 per hour.

VILLAGE HALL BAGS LOTTERY AND EVERYONE WINS !

Warkworth War Memorial Hall in partnership with the Warkworth Drama Group have been awarded a Big Lottery Fund grant of £2771 toward the cost of a new sound system for the hall. The system contains four speakers and fixed and radio microphones with high quality amplifier and mixer equipment. The system also includes a Loop Induction element which will mean a vastly improved experience for the hearing impaired.
The installation was designed and installed by F & M McLoughlin, Sound Engineers, of Gosforth. The Drama Group will act as custodians of the system but it will
be available to all Hall Users Groups.
There was a teach-in by Frank McLoughlin for all those
representatives of User Groups interested in using the new
sound system on Thursday 25 March at 7.15pm.
For those
only interested in using the Loop Induction system, Ralph Firth
of the Warkworth Drama Group will explain this to interested
parties from 10 a.m. onward on Saturday 10 April at the Memorial
Hall Coffee Morning.
